How to wash a car?

Recommendations for washing a car at the ICW self-service car wash

To get the maximum result from using the ICW self-service car wash and keep the car’s paintwork in perfect condition, it is important to correctly select the washing programs depending on the degree of contamination. Following the sequence of stages will not only clean the bodywork efficiently, but also extend the service life of the coating.

LIGHT POLLUTION (dust, light dirt after rain, urban pollution)

We use the programs: FOAM + COLD WATER

In most cases, this is enough for daily care. Active foam effectively dissolves road dust and light dirt, and rinsing with cold water completely washes away detergent residue.

AVERAGE POLLUTION (dirt from the highway, rain, snow, insect tracks)

We use the programs: FOAM or CLEANER + COLD WATER + WAX + OSMOUS WATER FOAM + COLD WATER

For the best result, it is recommended to use a cleaner to pre-soften complex dirt. After the main wash, wax should be applied – it creates a protective layer that repels water and dirt. The final rinse with osmosis water prevents streaks.

HEAVY POLLUTION (dried dirt, clay, reagents, winter deposits)

We use the programs: FOAM or CLEANER + COLD WATER or HOT WATER + WAX + OSMOSIS WATER

In case of heavy contamination, it is recommended to first wash off the main layer of dirt with water under pressure. Hot water dissolves complex dirt and reagent residues more effectively. After completely cleaning the body, be sure to use wax to restore the protective layer.

ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Foam application

  • Apply foam to a dry car body, evenly covering the entire surface.
  • Do not allow gaps – it is an even layer that provides the maximum cleaning effect.
  • If there is a stuck or thick layer of dirt – rinse it off with cold water first.
  • In hot weather, be sure to cool the body with cold water before applying the foam to avoid the detergent drying out too quickly.

2. Using pressurized water

  • When using the “COLD WATER” or “HOT WATER” programs, hold the gun at a distance of 10–15 cm from the car surface.
  • Do not direct the jet too close to rubber seals and damaged areas of the coating.

3. Waxing

  • Wax is applied only to a clean car after the detergents have been completely washed off.
  • Regular use of wax gives the body a shine and makes subsequent washing easier.

4. Osmosis – the final stage

  • Osmosis water does not contain impurities and minerals, so it does not leave stains or streaks after drying.
  • After this program, you do not need to wipe the car – the water dries naturally.

By following these recommendations, you will be able to keep your car clean regardless of the season and operating conditions. The correct sequence of programs at the ICW self-service car wash guarantees a high-quality result and safe care for your car.
